House prices are going up? Explain that to the people losing jobs!!!!

Bbc scotland: Hundreds lose jobs as mill closes

More than 350 jobs are to be lost after it was decided Inverurie Paper Mill is to close.

Engineering group GKN has confirmed that it is cutting 564 jobs in the UK.

Agreed Mark and no "golden parachute" for these folks either, I am sure. They seem to be reserved for the players rather than the workers.

l live close to the area where this mill shall close ,many will hope for a job in the oil buisness but here the downturn is starting to hurt as well ,lower oil prices and the companys start to pay off and shelve any upgrades to platforms or stop drilling for new oil etc, the town where this is happening had one of the largest rises of house prices in the whole of scotland last year,things are getting serious now and with no end in sight ,if you have a job up North justnow you try and hold onto it as there shall be very few soon...

We lost a mill in Fife last year. I think a couple of hundred jobs. Big local employer for over 100 years.
