Reuters: FSA says government proposes immunity power

LONDON (Reuters) - The Financial Services Authority on Wednesday said the government had proposed giving it the power to grant immunity in criminal investigations, seen as a key tool in successfully prosecuting financial crimes.
The proposal is set out in the Coroners and Justice Bill, published on Wednesday, and will make it easier for the FSA to crack down on crimes such as insider trading, the watchdog said.
