The Guardian: Directors of state-backed Lloyds asked for a pay rise
"Eric Daniels, the Lloyds chief executive, is currently paid a basic salary of £1.03m.
The bank's other five executive directors before the HBOS takeover was announced had a basic salary of between £590,000 and £680,000.
They also have short- and long-term incentive schemes that include annual bonuses of up to 200% of basic salary, with the exception of Daniels, who can boost his salary with a 225% bonus payout."...............anyone feel sick?

Let them take 90% pay cut.

Let them get compensated in accordance with the long term profitability/success of their businesses, just like everyone else.
That seems fair.

The Directors jobs are to deliver value to shareholders - on that basis they should all be sacked never mind given pay rises. Everyone should have performance related pay (well - nearly everyone). Bankers and footballers are the worst - where is the incentive to score a goal when you get 90K a week just for turning up? No difference here. Tossers.

I'm sura a lot of these people (bankers) feel they've done a cracking good job but have been victimised by the "american" credit crunch. Just like george brown.

freudian slip...meant to write "gordon brown", not "george brown" (former boss of mine who was sacked for falsifying the accounts...)
