Quick, we need another initiative from GB

Employment minister Tony McNulty said the figures were "very disappointing" and predicted things would "get worse before they get better".

The number of people unemployed is much larger than 2 million. Self employed builders, plumbers, carpenters, electricians and other self-employed people in the South West now have no work. Part time workers in shops and othe businesses are being sacked. Business fronts are being boarded up with plywood. Estate agents and letting agents have empty desks. The list is endless.
Further, the draconian activities of the Job Centers and the Department of Works and Pensions, Local Council departments are driving people off the registers by intimidation. Intovert personality types, those with a low IQ, those on incapacity benefits are being effected the most, simply cannot deal with red intimidating tape, intimidating letters, threatening phone phone calls from the too numerous Government departments and quangos.
With 50 people chasing each vacancy, Nu Labour ministers are causing great hardship, suffering, misery, malnutrician, pilling up future health problems for despondent individules and families.
A tragic situation that is spiraling out of control. Most upsetting.

I am amazed we are not witnessing riots in some parts of the country. How much more will it take?

I agree with 'down wave', it is very difficult to get 'unemployment status' when you have been self employed.
The fact that you don't pay Class 1 national insurance makes it hard to get it.
I know my brother had to go onto income support because he had been self employed. Not sure if this puts you into government figures as unemployed. I would guess probably not. In which case those 'unemploymen' figures are worthless.

New Labour and its department such as the FSA and ONS have been manipulating numerous
statistics including unemployment and available job vacancies to Glorify the success of the
Labour party.
What is so immoral and unethical about this is that Labour over the years has used this
misinformation to lure the public into a false sense of financial security, i.e. no more booms
or busts, so borrow, borrow and borrow more. Now just look what these unethical socialists
and civil servants have done to our Sovereignty, World reputation, family life and culture.
