MailOnline: Public officials boosting their incomes by £40k with 'second home allowance'

Senior public officials are being paid a 'second home allowance' that can boost their incomes by £40,000 a year or more, it was revealed today.

However, the number of public servants claiming the allowances has not been disclosed.
