If a Japanese PM should say the same thing, he would be very likely to receive a long package containing a 15 inch knife with a letter saying 'Just for your convenience', suggesting that he should commit Seppuku (aka Harakiri). Typically right-wing thug would do this, only to be arrested by the police later..

For the benefit of those who may have missed the original story:

Times: Gordon Brown: "I called for global financial reform ten years ago"
Gordon Brown claimed today that he had been warning for ten years that the international financial markets needed to be more strongly regulated.

What did he do? get some staff to trail through 11+ years worth of garbage speeches in the vain hope that he could find something to say i told you so?! Then trawls up some rubbish occasion in Harvard when he mentioned something he could later rely on as evidence?

What next? "There was a time when I was sitting in a hot bath contemplating life and thought - hang on - all this could end in tears you know. Then I rinsed my hair and forgot all about it"
