If a Japanese PM should say the same thing, he would be very likely to receive a long package containing a 15 inch knife with a letter saying 'Just for your convenience', suggesting that he should commit Seppuku (aka Harakiri). Typically right-wing thug would do this, only to be arrested by the police later..

"In budget after budget I want us to do even more to encourage risk-takers." Brown's 2004 Mansion House speeech.

What did he do? get some staff to trail through 11+ years worth of garbage speeches in the vain hope that he could find something to say i told you so?! Then trawls up some rubbish occasion in Harvard when he mentioned something he could later rely on as evidence?
What next? "There was a time when I was sitting in a hot bath contemplating life and thought - hang on - all this could end in tears you know. Then I rinsed my hair and forgot all about it"
