Gordon Brown in denial that the economic mess we are in is due to him

Fresh Business Thinking: Gordon – The Golden Rule Of Holes Is – STOP DIGGING

When Gordon Brown spoke to Evan Davis on the Today Programme on Friday he was given plenty of opportunities admit that his government had made some mistakes and that part of the economic mess we find ourselves in is due to him. Not what we need at a time of crisis – can someone please take away his spade!
At the same time can we take heed of some sound advice offered by former British ambassador to Washington Sir Christopher Meyer on BBC1’s Question Time when he called for an end to party politics during the economic crisis?
A call that was completely ignored by Liam Fox who attacked the Government's current economic policy and called for an immediate general election! We are in crisis and as Iain Martin quips; “Denial is a river in Egypt”.

I seem to remember during his glorious days media said his most successful economic stewardship was thanks to his decision to give full independence and authority for BoE/MOC to in setting base rate. (Actually to my knowledge he has done virtually nothing else! What a great deal of credit he claimed for so little even if it can ever be assumed to have worked at all) Now that his stewardship has turned out to be nothing short of disaster, we have every reason to look into the causal association between the current mayhem and 'his' decision to give freehand to the MPC.

Good for Fox. We don't just suspend the democratic process when it suits the ruling party. Someone had to stand up and call these idiots out.
