Cameron cranks it up a notch.

The Independant: Cameron: "New babies born with £17,000 debt"

Rapidly-rising Government debt means every baby born in Britain starts life owing £17,000, Tory leader David Cameron said today as he launched a new publicity campaign.
His claim came as the Opposition unveiled a hard-hitting new poster designed to highlight what it calls Labour's "debt crisis".
The poster, which will be shown at 260 billboard sites across the country, features a photograph of a baby and the slogan: "Dad's nose, mum's eyes, Gordon Brown's debt - Labour debt crisis: Every child in Britain is born owing £17,000. They deserve better."

The newborns don't actually owe 17K, but I suppose it makes a point.

Correction, that's over a 100%. I am not including unborn babies here.

The futures bright. The futures Brown. From an earlier post. Cooking today!

Does this £17000 include/exclude the £250 Child Trust Fund given to each infant?

I agree with 51ck-6-51x

Babies don't owe 17k.

If you are gonig to use this analogy, why not add up the tax burden for their life,
and say "New Babies Owe £1 million".

Cameron has shown himself to have a Blair-like vacuum between the ears on proposing any alternatives. Neither did any Tory call for the kind of action that could have prevented this bubble from blowing quite so large in the first place.

Broon may be useless but the Tories havent said or done anything that shows they are any more fit to take charge.

As for the Lib Dems, apart from Vince (in his more lucid moments anyway) they have also been a waste of space. Essentially no mainstream pol dares to call it as it is (or even dares to demonstrate any real grasp of the situation).

More Tory carping from the sidelines such as this won't make a blind bit of difference.

Gordoonn has fooked it up. Badger is well, just badger. No matter what you think of the tories, the mad one has to go. The country needs medicine, unfortunately we all (most) are three year olds not wanting to take the nasty stuff. As for being told that the medicine is on its way.... This is what the tories & the rest fear. The truth will hurt.

alan @8, don't vote then

mont @7.... how about a new party? The commonsense party?

monte. - why put policies out? Simply not being Labour should be good enough to win him the election, why spoil that now?

alan - inverse snobbery, nothing else

justwatching - I think that's been tried before, UKIP, Veritas (remember them?) all claim to be the commonsense middle England party with little effect

Cheers for the link Malc,

As you said, most people on here have an idea about the theory of fractional reserve banking etc. But I never tire of people trying to explain it in various layman ways. It's the way forward. You have to start somewhere.

Chill out c/m,

I read that Times article today as well. Scary! Especially after re reading 1984 recently! It seems to becoming more common place for the use of "laws" for different purposes than what they were originally created for. No surprise there really.

Agreed, there are two sides.

However, one half is flailing around in the dark; myself included, and the othe half is writing the script. I'm thinking the ones who presume to be the more enlightened are still basking in the dusk.

New world will be divided into 2 parts. The taxation army- public sector and the cashless monitored/tracked private slave society.

All neatly ran by a few international banks. No government. They allowed themselves to become too weak to rule.

That is why things dont make sense now. They will . Timescale? in the dusk.

Look at where things have gone over the last 40years. Take yourself back and in a second see how things are now. Not so far fetched to

my mind. Draw your own conclusions. Publc sector brown nosers will be doomed as they are now.

Of course I could be wrong and the world will end soon and the economic riddle solved.

Perhaps if enough people get angry, I mean real angry and start to club together like they do in hard times,

the tougher members with support may overcome. I think that's called a revolution. Not like the French one I hope!

Back to now. That is why there is no guilt about future generations. Their destiny is already set.

That's some of my take. Everyone will have there own and they will be right to a degree. I would not try on the tinted glasses for one second.

IT WILL GET UGLY!!!!!!!!! You can take that to the bank.
