MSN: Asda to create 7000 new jobs

Supermarket chain Asda will create 7,000 new jobs this year, a spokesman said. More than half them will be created by the opening of 14 new stores and the planned expansion of 15 existing sites

If Tesco & Asda were planning to open superstores 18 months ago the reaction from the press would be all "NIMBY" - , exploitng farmers, death of high st etc.
Now any (potential) employer is a hero
