See the rewards that value for money can bring!

This is a statement of the bl33ding obvious! People will turn their spending from the expensive highstreet to online retailers when times are hard and price is the main driver of purchases. If amazon can sell me CDs for £3, and deliver them free to my door, why should I buy them in Zavvi?
Highstreet retailers, unless they have a real niche, are screwed by a combination of internet and recession. There will be many retail chains going the same way as woollies in 2009.

The internet is only useful up to a point. You can't easily buy floor-tiles or carpets online, yet CarpetRight and Floors-To-Go are struggling. Most people wouldn't buy a sofa or a kitchen online either, but that didn't help MFI. Finally most people don't buy a new car online, but car manufacturers are squealing.

Amazon is a very successful company and I'm sure it will continue to do well, but make no mistake the British (and American) shopper is all shopped out.

I also suspect that a majority of the sheeple consider that buying on-line using a credit card is not really 'buying' as they didn't walk into a shop and leave with an item purchased, so it doesn't really count.

I also believe that the masses at the boxing day rugby scrum sales were thinking that, its not what I'm banging on my credit card its how much I'm saving !

Heavy duty denial
