Recovery is always 6 months away...

guardian.co.uk: Global growth 'to hit 60-year low'

The Barclays Wealth Signpost report said that the first half of 2009 is going to be "a long, hard slog". Recovery will start in the second half of the year but will vary geographically.

The recovery is normally always 18 months away. Early-to-mid 2010 is what they're all saying now. Eighteen months is an amazing number: it's just far away enough that nobody can question the prediction, but near enough to be reassuring.
