2009 looks far gloomier

Islington is a special case. House prices in the north London borough have fallen more sharply than in most places, while many residents of its ritzier parts make their living in the City.

House prices have dropped more in Islington than in most places?? That can't be right. Only a few months a go, an Islington resident friend of mine was telling me that house prices have dropped, but not around her way. Maybe she meant just her particular street.

That's probably the difference between the asking price (what she sees) and the sales prices (what is actually being achieved). Who knows eh? People are still in denial, which is incredible really. I know 9 people that have been made redundant and 6 more that have had to take pay cuts. When do people realise that this IS going to affect them?
