Bleed the World

the independant: Do they know it's Christmas in the City?

For a new take on the Feed the World charity appeal song, have a look at www.Bleedtheworld.com, with its appeal for cash for disadvantaged bankers. The chorus is great: "And there won't be City bonuses this Christmas time, the only thing they'll get this year is fired, no strippers or cocaine, just anger, hate and blame."

The video's great, and the comments in particular are hilarious. The Indie's page is annoying though -- bloody web designers putting in changing images that distract when I'm reading and which I can only turn off by disabling Javascript. Muppets! Grrrhh!!

Merry Xmas everyone!

The youtube comments are brilliant, i particularly enjoyed the comment votes, with most if not all of the "boo hoo bankers need saving" comments being voted down and all the "they shafted us, tough" voted up. quality.

Happy christmas everyone(exept BTL parasites), i am going to celebrate this year likes its my last.
I have a feeling that xmas 2009 will be a much more sober affair, thanks to the Greed of the few.

Thanks for the entertaining video post.

For those who feel the wording of the song was a little hard... I know people who took those banking clients to the seedier parts of the west end. Their bonuses have been cut this year.

Justice?

I trust all those bonuses of christmas past can be enjoyed with the realisation of the endless pain and misery they have caused, and will continue to create for millions.

Funny, last week I was thinking about making a spitting image like parody on this song. Would have been "Fleece the world" i.s.o. "Bleed the world".

I think the video is funny, don't get me wrong, but I don't agree with the finger of blame culture - there is a lack of collective responsibility. If there was not such huge demand for consumer credit the credit bubble could not have occurred for as much reason as there being no supply or, for that matter, regulators stepping in or even politicians doing something earlier (maybe the Conservatives should have been listening to and heeding the advice of Vince Cable).

Note that due to the globalisation of finance anyone who defaults on their debt has effectively stolen from the developing world. Maybe we should consider sending bankrupt BTLers over to China, India, etc.. to work off their debt!
