A Story That Deserves Maximum Exposure
MailOnline: Council official evicted elderly tenants from bungalows... then moved in herself
As a council official with responsibility for helping the homeless, Kristine Reeves knows how much people value their homes.
Which makes it difficult to explain how she came to play a key role in evicting frail and elderly tenants from their bungalows - then moved into one with her partner.
The £52,000-a-year head of neighbourhood and strategic housing was just one of 18 council employees who took up residence in former sheltered accommodation at the Greyhound Opening site in Norwich.
She also benefited from the rent at the one-bedroom bungalow she took over two months ago being reduced from £69 a week to £47.
Similar properties in the area cost between £350 and £750 a month.

At best she'll lose her job, but she really should face jailtime.

Unbelievable ! Abuses of power like this make me angry ..
This p**s-poor parasitic excuse for a public service employee should start the new year in the job seekers queue.

ah.. if only she was some kind of ethnic minority, this could have been a story that a lot of the people on HPC would have really got behind.

It's a sad fact of life that the most selfish and self-serving members of our society are drawn to work in the public sector under the cover of serving society whilst actually serving only their own self-interests.

Rather taking the Mail's word for it aren't you?

A story that deserves maximum exposure ... on another blog. Nothing to do with house prices, therefore irrelevant.

A shame to almost end the year like this but an example of well paid public servants, financed by taxes, abusing priveleged positions at the expense of citizens incapable of defending themselves,. Clearly an act against God Queen and Country. Indefensible and utterly greedy.
In this case I applaud this newspaper for this exposure, political leaning or not, this is just pure corruption and needs to be dealt with severely.

This happens all over the country. Same with the Social services. Must be a labour council eh.

This is a tiny. What about the rest of the year? How we miss the BIG picture when we get caught up in trivial details.

Perhaps true Crunchy. However I liken it to the saying 'look after the pennies, and the pounds will look after themselves' If people consistently picked up all of these types of actions, there would be a different overall culture, and it would make it much harder to pull the wool over the eyes of the electorate.

And these are the sort of people looking after the poor and vulnerable. May God help us all.

People who take the Hate Mail line that all public servants are suspect are rather missing the point that
the council people occupying the houses say they are doing so temporarily while they are re-developed
in order to save on a Security firm.Sounds implausible but until the facts are established ,it might be better
to control the anti-public-sector rhetoric.

The problem is most people think that all is just fine, barring the odd little incident.
If I try to highlight foul play in any way I very soon get shot down for even hinting at the idea that we are slowly being cooked.
I fear that we do not I live in a world that has our best interests at heart and when enough people realise this possibility we may have change.
The further down the line we go the less chance we have of this happening.

Quite. It's like making a judgement about the entire private sector based on a story about a single BTL landlord published in a dubious tabloid.

This is only the second time I can recall you making a comment on this website. The last occasion was another ignorant, ill-informed, bigoted, hate-fuelled rant as well.
