Rage in Iceland

Beeb: Iceland protest ends in clashes

Iceland is the first country whose economy has toppled, destroyed by a deflating housing debt bubble that is sinking the world economy. They are calling for the gov to step down for these errors. Perhaps we should do the same to our chancellor who fell asleep with a smug smile while our bubble floated up into blissful insanity? Rage is understandable but not always useful. Better to channel it at protecting yourself now. Get rid of debt, keep your job, invest wisely if you don't trust cash in the bank.

Max Keiser predicted the fall of Iceland early 2007 and produced this TV program on it, he's been predicting that the same could happen to Sterling on his radio station that is on his website and he now thinks that Switzerland could be the next Iceland.

I listen to every one. He makes economics fun and enjoyable! It occured to me that, the fane-stream media and schools, not only dumb us down by not covering all the issues, but, make it as boring as possible, so that people don't look into it in their spare time, yet I've discovered this year, that economics is one of the most exciting topics, with deception intrigue, dodgy relationships, constant battles between good and evil. Better than any novel I've ever read!!

Yep, an excellent find especially when you realise that it was filmed before Northern Rock over 12 months ago and as P4C says very watchable especially with Max's dry humour, the bit about the Mount Hecla volcano on the second video is hilarious as it has the banker almost struck dumb in his confusion.

Okay, very interesting, but regulars on HPC knew all this back then too - the question is, does it teach us anything about what happens after the volcano blows..?

(Also very interesting that this appears to have been broadcast on Al Jazeera..)
