Trying to spend you way out when you get here by spending too much - this is just what the Japanese did / are still doing / and all it's done is increase their indebitedness, Japan remains in recession 15 odd years after the crash. Best bet would be to let the market take it's course and suffer through the short term pain, that won't happen of course, it's politically inconceivable that politicians won't want to appear to do something just in case it works and secures their political immortality.
