Bush vs Gore, Bush vs Kerry, Obama vs Clinton, Brown vs Osbourne
All the same staged conflict. Common agenda seems to be 'Scrap Sterling!', for their common sahib.

So why isn't Osborne calling for interest rates to be raised then, if he's telling it like it is? He's just another tw@t, that's why.

phd, how many people will loose their homes and how many would loose their jobs if B of E interest rates rose above 5%?
Interest rates have been that low for that long that any increases will inflict severe economic and social damage to this country either directly or indirectly because this countries popularist government has sold its soul to the banking devil on the back of rising house price fueled equity withdrawal and fake wealth.

Anyone else find it distasteful that we have a politician telling the truth to the general public and receiving flack for it?
Regardless I would of thought that anyone in a position to “pull wealth out of sterling” would have done so already. I suppose it is just the normal hard workers and overseas vacationers that suddenly have something new to worry about.... if they didn't already know.

@enuii
Perhaps I could have worded that better - My point is Osborne hasn't criticised the recent interest rate cut and what effect will that cut have on Sterling? I wasn't advocating raising rates above 5% but neither was I advocating the slash em and spend strategy.

George Bilderburg Osborne.

No, his real name is even scarier:

Parliamentary rules have for ages banned telling the truth. With truthful statements such as " The Honorable Member is a lying b@stard" being totally banned.
20. planning4acrash said...
Bilderburg is a secretive globalist organisation where politicians discuss global issues in secret, outside parliament, congress, etc. He is not acting in the best interest of Britain by evoking a run on the pound, neither is the Times. He's done F'all to counter this whilst it was building, and now comes in for the kill and, at the last minute gets to say "I told you so". So, the Tories after doing nothing to argue against the last 15yrs of failed policies, now get to gloat and put the pieces together. No Labour politician was at Bilderburg this year, because Labour has done its bit for the globalists and is on its way out. Tories waiting in the wing to take up the mantle once GB falls, when we vote the other buggers out.

Have to agree with you about pretty much all you say there. Would probably take issue about the scale of Bilderburg's influence in the world though.

I was going to say that yesterdays contrail conspiracy theory is today's Bilderburg conspiracy theory. But on reflection, the above statement is factual, and you may therefore have a point.
23. phdinbubbles said...
Bilderburg can't be that secretive seeing as I've heard of it. I can't imagine they'd want to draw publicity to themselves for security reasons more than anything. Wealthy individuals exerting too much power and influence over governments? - well probably, but wasn't it always thus. I've never seen any direct evidence of anything sinister coming out of Bilderburg, well other than Mandelson, Prince of Darkness.

GBR "Kerr, John " "Member, House of Lords; Deputy Chairman, Royal Dutch Shell plc."
- I draw the attention of Parliament to the following press release, which states that, these Parliamentarians, were discussing geo-politics in secret, with the upper eschillons of global finance, commerce and media. I therefore consider it pertinent, expedient and in the public interest to request details of any expenses requested or received by the aforementioned people received in relation to the visit. I also demand the documents and correspondence that relate to the planning of the meeting, its the contents of what was discussed and of any documents or correspondence that have followed on from the meeting.

Bilderberg Announces 2008 Conference
Thursday June 5, 8:10 pm ET
CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The 56th Bilderberg Meeting will be held in Chantilly, Virginia, USA 5 – 8 June 2008. The Conference will deal mainly with a nuclear free world, cyber terrorism, Africa, Russia, finance, protectionism, US-EU relations, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Islam and Iran. Approximately 140 participants will attend, of whom about two-thirds come from Europe and the balance from North America. About one-third is from government and politics, and two-thirds are from finance, industry, labor, education and communications. The meeting is private in order to encourage frank and open discussion.Bilderberg takes its name from the hotel in Holland, where the first meeting took place in May 1954. That pioneering meeting grew out of the concern expressed by leading citizens on both sides of the Atlantic that Western Europe and North America were not working together as closely as they should on common problems of critical importance. It was felt that regular, off-the-record discussions would help create a better understanding of the complex forces and major trends affecting Western nations in the difficult post-war period. The Cold War has now ended. But in practically all respects, there are more, not fewer, common problems - from trade to jobs, from monetary policy to investment, from ecological challenges to the task of promoting international security. It is hard to think of any major issue in either Europe or North America whose unilateral solution would not have repercussions for the other. Thus the concept of a European-American forum has not been overtaken by time. The dialogue between these two regions is still - even increasingly - critical.
What is unique about Bilderberg as a forum, is the broad cross-section of leading citizens that are assembled for nearly three days of informal and off-the-record discussion about topics of current concern especially in the fields of foreign affairs and the international economy; the strong feeling among participants that in view of the differing attitudes and experiences of the Western nations, there remains a clear need to further develop an understanding in which these concerns can be accommodated; the privacy of the meetings, which has no purpose other than to allow participants to speak their minds openly and freely. In short, Bilderberg is a small, flexible, informal and off-the-record international forum in which different viewpoints can be expressed and mutual understanding enhanced.
Bilderberg's only activity is its annual Conference. At the meetings, no resolutions are proposed, no votes taken, and no policy statements issued. Since 1954, fifty-five conferences have been held. The names of the participants are made available to the press. Participants are chosen for their experience, their knowledge, and their standing; all participants attend Bilderberg in a private and not an official capacity.
There will be no press conference. A list of participants is available by phone request at 703-818-3647 between 9am-5pm EDT June 6-7, 2008.

I knew it was going to be dangerous commenting on Bilderberg!
27. planning4acrash said...
Of course, I'll probably have p.doff saying, "Oh, just as I suspected, he provided links and evidence, just as expected, what a sucker, don't listen to him".
To see their influence, just look at who goes. Hillary Clinton and Obama slipped away from their media entourage whilst Bilderburg was last on in Chantilly, Virgina, days before Hillary announcing and backing off.
This link has a mainstream media clip where the media bash the minder for it.
List of attendee's from wikipedia. Its got EVERYBODY worth anything. When did we have a meeting like this in the open? Never, they only do this stuff in private, its called the shadow global government, the new world order.
28. phdinbubbles said...
I was having a look at the list of attendees earlier on. Some quite sensible people on there and some quite bizarre. Cecil Parkinson? Now if he is secretly running the world I am worried.

Hi P4aC
No need to thank me for debunking the contrail conspiracy for you. I suspected you would move on to your next pet topic, the only uncertainty was which one it would be. Now I know.
And tomorrow?

One of the FT columnists (possibly Martin Wolf?) attended a Bilderberg meeting and said it was pretty run-of-the-mill stuff. Basically it looks like a chance for top people to get together and have a frank, off-the-record discussion about whatever is on their mind.
I can't help thinking that if there were a conspiracy to take over the world or whatever, they'd have done it by now....
31. planning4acrash said...
p.doff, you did not debunk anything. I want evidence of the circumstances under which untainted contrails become persistent for hours, turning into clouds. Under very very cold, humid conditions, they may last a few minutes.
32. planning4acrash said...
Drewster, the fact that all these important people meet in private is scary. What are they discussing? Why are they keeping it secret? Why does the media not cover it? Is this the only meeting? What is the point of democracy if we can't listen to them discussing points of geo-politics? And, an FT coloumnist said it was run of the mill, well, his paper sends people and doesn't cover it, so, they wouldn't say that.
"We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time magazine and other great
publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected the promises of discretion
for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if
we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more
sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world-government. The supranational sovereignty
of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the National autodetermination
practiced in past centuries"
David Rockefeller in an address to a Trilateral Commission meeting in June of 1991

If there is a run on the pound (and I hope that there is not) the consevatives will be truely vindicated.
34. planning4acrash said...
What does tri-lateral stand for? A New World Order with three groups of pegged currencies, with a global central bank and regulator above them. Sounds uncannily similar to George Orwell's 1984.
