If it's quite a good speech it's because he's been listening to the kinds of criticism that hpc.co.uk and others have been making and then 'taking these on board'. But it's totally unconvincing - trickle-down theory on behalf of the tricklers. Give the banks a bit more and the logjam will be broken. No it won't. The money is going into two places; down a black hole and into bankers' trouser pockets. Gordon, two words - debtmountain and deleveraging.

Hey, Gordon has just saved the world. Everything is sorted. A bit of Government money and there you go. Now let's go and re-inflate the bubble. Our fatherly Gordon will bail us out again and of course he didn't have anything to do with the creation the bubble in the first place....
...I start to understand why everybody wants to get rid of him...
