Deflation/inflation debate

Money and Markets: Important change in our outlook

A deflationary outlook, with a short opinion on the direction of gold.
Does anybody really know?

Unlike in the 1930s US and 1990s Japan, the central banks will act fast enough to avoid a deflationary depression.

But they can only do this by creating more money than ever before and will ultimately destroy western currencies by loading the taxpayer with crippling debt that WILL NEVER BE REPAID and sending oil to $400

"The good news is that, considering the potential magnitude of the deflation we see ahead, it should be over and done quite quickly. We’re not expecting a long, drawn-out deflation. We are looking at a deflation that could be as short as it is dramatic."

If this is correct, what would a deflationary landscape look like in the UK?

I wish people would wake up and stop blaming capitalism! Can't concentrate at work. This stuff is insane, but, my pressure canner arrived from USA today, so will get stocking up on storable foods now.

Well this article read ok to me even if it was a bit of an advert for them.

It's clear there is a divide as to which way this is going.

My feeling is still to wait a while.

You should've bought 1000 pressure canners. The way the GBP/$ has gone today you'd've made a killing. LOL.

P4AC,

Capitalism has served us well through the last 300 years.
But it has flaws that are being exposed right now

It relies on the exponential growth of debt, populations, and consumption to maintain stability.
As with ALL exponential functions the problems are not visible until you are right on top of them.

We need to move to a world where we have ZERO growth of money, populations, and consumption.
Capitalism cannot provide this

It is time for something NEW.

Is this all a conspiracy to boost sales of pressure canners?
Which will get us first: A) The total collapse of civilisation; B) Global warming; C) The Large Hadron Collider; D) None of the above.

Canning is rubbish. Brine, vinegar, sugar and drying to store your fruit, veg and gathered mushrooms.

I have started a food preserving meetup mum owns a jam business and grows fruit. S2r, we have Corporatism, not capitalism, which requires sound money. Capitalism is vindicated.

This basically is a war between capitalism and Corporatism. National Corporatism is dying, and we have a choice between global Corporatism or decentralized capitalism and liberty. David us Goliath.

In many ways, i think global Corporatism will occur and fail before enough people wake up and demand liberty.
