An alternative to pressure canners

CNN: Enough of the apocalypse already!

This doomsday business just gets old after a while, you know?

you know what, I have a few lessons to give tonight and tomorrow but I am going to have a great weekend out of choice. Things are tightening but I'm alive, with a lovely wife and new baby. If the powers be collapse their banks then that's their problem but there is so much more to life than trying to hype up armageddon or fearing the end of civilisation. Even worst case financial scenario my familly will eat and make the best of it, if it means that I don't have my PS3 or Fender Twin to plug in to then so be it. Can we just accept things are bad but not get carried away?

Recently, I spent many days on the convalescence ward of Christies cancer hospital visiting my Mum. Those chemo sufferers have real problems, they are in agony, ravaged and literally on deaths door - us worrying about our next 6 month bond, gold transaction or moving our STR funds about does not constitute anything other than one of lifes inconveniences even if they are important decisions. Please don't let me appear patronising, but for those constant seekers of arnageddonish proof on here can I please ask for a bit of perspective in what consitutes a disaster. I do get the impression that some posters just love creating the negative hype

I agree with this poster, it's bad out there but it could be an awful lot worse. Surely this website is just a distraction to our everyday lives as opposed to an all consuming affair?

Try chemo + Cdiff together (which my Mum got) or a bank run and then tell me which one is closest to armageddon.

Ps I hope all my new HPC mates stay in the rudest of health

bizarre post I know, but we need some Dunkirk spirit on here!

I was in Mexico earlier this year, and I was just astonished how much CNN has dumded down over the years - in the great swathe of the USA that takes in Chicago in the north right down to the Gulf of Meico, the 'News' coverage was so parochial that it made me gasp.
Trouble is, they've uses up their allotment of soundbites - the folks are 'just darned bored' with all this, an' all that other stuff in Eeraq too....

Congratulations on your baby. Best wishes for your mother.
I too think that catastrophy is improbable, especially the predictions based on cycles, which are probably about as predictive as Nostradamus.

My prayers r with u, but If your mother was well, she wld b concerned with the economy. Since i still have my health, I will continue 2 track and unravel the situation as history is made, and try to share knowledge about the true nature of reality.

My awareness of Cancer is one of the reasons why I've consistently advocated good food & warned against murcury laced vaccinations. To can your apples and have apple sauce all yr is to fight against Cancer. So its not only for the apocalypse!

There has been recession before, sterling crisis before etc... We do owe more than the USA in personal debt but one of the least in debt of the G7.. keeps us working hard and being good wine drinking citizens... Lets all make clear we are not going to give in in the mexican stand off with sellers.... your home is not worth £300,000 anymore, live with it and enjoy your cheaper move! Since when was less debt a bad thing?
