Why fear is good for the dollar

MoneyWeek: Why fear is good for the dollar

It won't be the recession that kills off the dollar - it will be the recovery. Because as long as investors are fleeing risk, says John Stepek, the US has a very powerful force propping up its currency: sheer terror.

Current chaos of a galactic order was so often predicted in this forum for the past three years, was it not?

Why is it then that the US FED ordered and orders the EU and other central banks to prop up the dollar??? The US is broke, they're just to afraid to admit it.

Cusinvinnie,

I've not heard about this ordering. Could you provide links to news stories or articles that talk about this in more detail?

You are quite right the USA is broke.

They remind me of the old story, if you owe the bank £20k, you've got a problem. If you owe them £20m, the bank's got a problem.

The same applies with the USA, it is the rest of the world that has the problem!
