TIMESONLINE: The Ten Biggest Stock Market Crashes of All Time

Some investors might think they have had a rough ride on the stock market over the past seven or eight months. But the recent share price gyrations pale into insignificance when compared with the biggest stock market falls of all time.
David Shwartz, the stock market historian, says: “The very big stock market crashes are invariably triggered by a series of different events which unfold one after the other.
So no need to worry then, but have you noticed that with the exception of 1929-32 the last 20years or so have be whoppers.Chances are the next one will be a double whopper.

No major stock market crash comes with prior announcement throughout the media. So, for that reason I'm long. Goodnight.

When WaMu failed it was the biggest bank in US history to go under and the stock market hardly sniffed, what then will make the stock market react.

I believe that stock markets are teetering on the edge-- literally. Governments' (coordinated) interventions are preventing a sudden collapse as each event in the series so far has been neutralised, again--literally. They are beginning to believe they have all angles covered and will feel pretty confident once this 'plan' is passed.
Events though are happening with such blinding speed that there is bound to be a Trigger that cannot be bought out of.
When? is anybodies' guess in this chaos and what this Trigger is could well be something no one is expecting.
My main point is that I expect the next crash will be huge and I don't think it is too far away given what has happened so far.
A kind of dangerous prediction but one many of us have in the back of our minds.
