CNN: 12th bank failure of the year announced
Ameribank Inc. was shut down on Friday by the Office of the Thrift Supervision, making it the 12th bank this year to go under.

It's 12 failed banks on the FDIC list, which doesn't include Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae.
