Don't Panic, lighten up! - Titanic has been sailing between Southampton and New York for more than 90 years
daily mash via SOTT: Satire: Nothing can possibly go wrong with gigantic new bank
HBOS and Lloyds TSB last night created a monstrous new banking entity safe in the knowledge that nothing can possibly go wrong.
Politicians and businessmen breathed a collective sigh of relief as two of the biggest names on the high street formed one very long name that will never do anything other than be brilliant all the time.
Martin Bishop, a senior trader at Madeley Finnegan, said: "History tells us that massive financial institutions do not fail. Ever. Okay, there is maybe a tiny handful of exceptions.
"Okay, maybe 40 or 50 exceptions. Actually, you're right, this is starting to look really dodgy."
just when you thought I was a miserable doomsayer - even my sense of humour prooves you right!

Fantastic as always - The Daily Mash is the only trusted news source left in the UK.

The only thing that immediately springs to mind with this takeover, merger, government gun at head coerced unification is that yet another
license covering depositors money is about to evaporate, or has done already.
There has been much prevarication over raising the 35K cover on deposits and a total lack of transparency over how many of these merged institutions hold seperate licenses.
It is time the FSA made this situation very very clear. Do they not exist to prevent depositors money from evaporating, or is this the new paradigm

Why are we getting lots of Sott links? This site looks like it is engaging in blatant copyright infringement.
It is OK to compile a list of links to newspaper articles and comment on them, like this site does, but copying the entire article is not OK.

jack c - I respect your efforts on this site and appreciate your humour.
It would be too easy for me to link direct with the original sources, but SOTT deserve credit for bringing the news to a wider audience, imho.
also it gives some people the opportunity to widen horizons even if they disagree with the subject matter. Much needed skill. imho

malct, thanks for your input - I thought I'd apply a bit of humour to the mix - all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy (so I'm reliably informed)

I for one don't care where the info comes from.... learn something new every day from this site and if it's a one stop shop, then that makes the 'learning' that bit easier for me. Thanks malct
