Crash Gordon and the case of the disappearing home buyers !!!
Times online: Did they think buyers would just carry on?
“This is no time for a novice,” the Prime Minister declared this week. So how does he explain the elementary mistake his Government made over the housing market? - The Times points out what everyone on HPC.co.uk was pointing too within hours of the start of the dithering over Stamp Duty, sales plummeted and the housing market, effectively, rolled over and actually died. How can Crash Gordon keep using the same old rhetoric when his mantra of "No more boom and bust" will haunt him into his political grave?

Soon auctions for the repossessed properties could be the only housing market in the land, in which case the size of the HPC should be simply beyond our mortal imagination. That's why I said 95% in some of the London properties cannot be ruled out.

Yesterday am on the Today Progamme he (Our Glourious Leader) actually stated that what we had witnessed in the economy over the last ten years wasn't (was not) a boom. And that we are not (not) now experiencing a bust.
I kid you not!

I'm inclined to agree with JU here. He's talking sense as there are bound to be extreme areas of price movements in different areas. The average falls/rises never indicate these statistcs on such a scale and are often a source of denial as we all know, and yes, many will be beyond comprehension.
Looks like there will be a lot more Bust before there is any Boom. Gordon's colleagues are jumping ship trying to escape any association with this financial disaster--- Cowards!

"Retailers who sell household goods and furnishings are feeling the pain too, as are estate agents, surveyors and housebuilders." Any company in these sectors that didn't put cash aside because they thought the party would go on endlessly deserves everything they get.

Gordon Brown is an idiot, a pathetic excuse for a poloticion. Arrogant, rude, aggressive and plain horrible. He deserves all he gets and let him rot in the politicol wilderness for his very long line of errors.
All he is, is a full time poloticion since 30, with a history degree and absolutly no COMMON SENSE. (And a VERY UGLY wife ..lol - who i would hide in a cupboard at party speech time)
