Will we beat the 1991 record for repossessions?

Guardian: Repossession orders up by a quarter

The number of homeowners in England and Wales threatened with repossession rose by a quarter in the year to the end of June, official figures showed today. The Ministry of Justice said lenders made 28,658 possession orders against borrowers in the second quarter of the year, 24% more than in the same period of 2007.

The difference being that the Heartless Tories allowed this to happen, whereas the Heartless Socialists will help themselves to large wodges of taxpayers' finest in order to make things worse.

Anyone for the Debt Olympics? No doubt Britain could give a 'creditable' (groan... sorry) performance; i.e., we wont win any medals. Actually, we might be in line for the Repossesion Bronze after Spain and the US.
