There nothing like kicking someone when there down
Times: Rightmove shares tumble with free rival set to launch
I wonder if the free one will let property snake track their listings

I had a quick look at the free one last night - globrix.
I saw several houses listed that have sold along time ago, with no updated data from the Agents.
I assume the agents leave them on so they can still get that little buzz they used to get by saying ''oh that one's been sold''.
However any serious buyers are going to qet quickly fed up hearing that line after they've spent half an hour viewing a property on-line and making their mind up whether they'd like to view it or not.
So unless glbex get their act together and get the info updated then it won't be a popular site.
And what a rubbish name globrix - I just wrote this post and thought it was globex, good job I checked.

Slightly off this post
James Scott-Lee from RICS (Ithink that names right) has just been talking on Radio 4 about how rents are increasing and less Landlords want to get out of the market and that people are seeing the bottom of the market and the long term yields are looking very good.
He'll no doubt pop up again later today.
Sounds like an arogant t*sser and no doubt has a BTL portfolio of his own he's nursing. I'd love to have thrown a few searching questions at him. He got an easy ride on Radio 4. I think it's almost criminal trying to suck people in.

The end of Estate Agents.
Surely the new site could allow the public to advertise free.
Their revenue would be massive from advertising alone (solicitors/removals etc)
Great concept - would make it the biggest property website in UK.

There really needs to be some mechanism to penalise vendors who leave stuff on these sites after it's been sold or rented...
I was looking for a place in London to rent earlier this year. Chose 20 on Rightmove - ALL were unavailable "But tell me what you're after and register your details with us and I'm sure we can find you something".
Then ensues pushy nuisance calls for the next 3 months.

The end of rightmove and findaproperty more like. EA's have got themselves together and will squeeze out the second tier who have made alot of money on the back of the property market and they dont actually sell anything. Of course the free site will need to be very very good and the NAEA might under estimate just how much investment is needed to get a good site running well.
