Hmmm not so sure about this.

Guardian.co.uk: Student rents increasing 'due to credit crunch'

Towards the end of the article:
Malcolm Harrison, a spokesman for the Association of Residential Lettings Agents, a professional and regulatory body, said he expects rents to continue to rise. "Rent will not go down as long as we have the credit crunch. When house prices fall, rental goes up," he said.

"Rents will not fall while there is a credit crunch"!

As the VI types who come here never stop telling us, if the credit crunch plays out there will be job losses. I agree that no one is immune BUT I like the way they forget that rents fall during the same economic downturn!
