Another humorous financial article from the Express

Daily Express: Homebuyers shouldn't wait for Darling

Coming on the heels of "House Prices Set to Soar in next 3 Years", the Express has followed up with a plea to prospective FTBs. Buy Now..............pleeeeease.
Why? because, wait for it...............“The housing market will get worse if people start holding off buying a property"
Perhaps the VIs are hoping to capitalise on the patriotic fervour generated by the Olympics by portraying tumescent house prices as a barometer of national virility. So we're all supposed to rush out to our local Estate Agent in a heroic attempt to save the housing market.
Nice try, but no gold medal.

"But people run the risk of losing their dream home if the vendors decide they cannot wait for an announcement from the Government.”
Peter Bolton King, NAEA

.......this is exactly the same sh*te spouted ad infinitum, the past boom has been caused by fear and greed, as are all booms, dream home, pension pot etc. etc. This has put a sizeable minority,( growing all the time, with the young moving from students to employees and looking for a place to live), in an untenable position because of the greed and fear emphasised and encouraged by the NAEA, Mortgage lenders, property pornites and the biggest culprit of all the government of UKPLC.

"Meanwhile, estate agents and mortgage experts are urging buyers to continue with house purchases as normal — or at least not to put off applying for mortgages."

Peter Bolton King "The housing market will get worse if people start holding off buying a property in the hope the Chancellor will offer some relief to stamp duty"

Err, urhm, now let me see; do turkey's vote for Christmas or not?

That's exactly the point Mr King!!! The housing market will get worse and that's why buyers are not idiots!!! The most ludicrous comment I've seen in a long while.

It never ceases to amaze me in what low regard the Express holds its readership.

"So if there is a deal that you want to snap up now." excuse me, what? Where is this deal? I must be blind!!

Oh, and I should arrange a mortgage now? You mean paying the ridiculous arrangement fee? Well, you are not paying for it, so what do you care!

Unbe****inglievable tosh, totally transparent to anyone with quarter of a brain (but maybe not to anyone who actually pays money for the Express).
The actual truth is that buyers SHOULD hold off so they don't miss out on the opportunity to buy their dream house at half the price in a couple of years.
