When there's no hope it's time to jump ship
Telegraph.co.uk: Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown heading for break-up
The strange relationship between Gordon Brown and his Chancellor is one of the most intriguing features of contemporary UK politics. They are long-standing friends but Darling's demeanor is now that of a man who has had enough of being pushed around. Whether he'll stand up to Brown on specifics, we shall see. But rumours swirl of rows, it is said.
Some mysterious person spent all the money in good times and left Darling, and by extension the rest of us, in this dire position. Once again, his name begins with G and ends in N.

I'm suprised he has stuck it out.
Personally I would have given the job back and told Gordon to sort out his mess a long time ago.

I don't know wether it was done on purpose but a BBC news clip this morning had Darling in the forefront telling us all we're taxed up to the eyeballs and Brown and Straw in the background laughing their heads off (wishful thinking on my part?)
They (last year) must have been incredibly stupid not to have some idea what was planned.

Keep voting NuLabour.
It will all work out.
You can trust us. We will keep him in check.
We can fix the country, house prices, inflation, oil, world hunger. Keep up the support.
Thank-you.

This is an orchestrated deception to blame one man for a Political Party's actions (and they are not the only Party).
Sacrifice one for the good of the many. Except they are not Good in any sense, and are responsible for not only a House Price calamity but an almost total break-down of the structure, leaving many people in despair,

Some time ago, Darling, allegedly, gave "The Brown Bottom" a good pumping in the debriefing room.
The repercussions of that meeting are still being felt.
