Yeah, but this is the Torygraph, I would like to see the same story in the more rabidly left leaning press.

Not sure I get your drift as most people already know he's lost the plot never mind his grasping grip of the nations finances. The only ones who don't are probably the Big Brother watching morons who can barely comprehend the content of the Sun/Mirror/Star and the Daily Express.

So Labour will get demolished in Glasgow. Brown will stagger on like a wounded animal for a few more months then be replaced. Labour will lose the next General Election and be the Opposition for at least 10 years. What do you reckon?

enuii,

Here's the same story covered by your "rabidly left-leaning press":

Guardian: Brown's prudence faces battering as Treasury reveals record deficit
"Gordon Brown's reputation for economic prudence was under unprecedented pressure yesterday as the Treasury admitted it was being forced to look at jettisoning its strict fiscal rules in the face of the worst budget deficit since the second world war."

There's more chance of Mugabe calling another election to let people decide his fate than there is of Gordon Brown doing the same.
The next time Gordon Brown wants to criticize other 'regimes' maybe he should look a little closer to home!

Thank you renting2, you got it in a nutshell, Gordy Broon was always a buffoon, who never really had a grip on the economy, and came up with the "Golden Rule" soundbite just to give the pretense of Fiscal wisdom to the Market. I noticed the "one show" on the BBC didn't bother to ask
Broon any really awkward questions about e.g. the mess he's made with lax lending rules, Maastricht treaty or anything of relevance. I do hope he's still there for the next election, so we can his nose rubbed in the sh*t!
