If they do, they'll have the double whammy of a CCJ (which means they won't get another mortgage for at least 7 years) and the bailiffs will come round to get three times the desposit back from them, by walking off with whatever they can find.

Not nice.

If they are already facing reposession of their buy to let property, then this CCJ isn't going to make things any worse for them.

Yes, but defaulting on a CCJ is essentially a criminal offence. If they have no assets, or the bailiffs can't trace them, they effectively become fugitives.

No surprise... a website called Gumtree promotes all these dodgy landlords.. Adds a whole new meaning to the term "Up a Gumtree".
