The Times is obsessed with top 10s, 20s, 50s, 100s. When you add into the fact that it chooses to print the musings of two of the most inept economic "journalists" there have ever been - Anatole Kaletsky (literal translation of from Russian of his name Ka-let'sky = "always incorrect") and David ($40 a barrel for oil by 2008) Smith...what is the point of this newspaper other than keeping a tramp warm on a winters night?

Fantastic comment:-
''would love to see how 'Old' Labour under the awful Foot and successors would have dealt with the changes that had to be made in the 1980s. Looks like history is repeating itself as someone is going to have to pick up the mess inherited from another Labour administration although Gordon will no doubt cling on to power, like the disfunctional lunatic he, is until 2010''
Labour are the party of tax and spend, always have been always will be. I defy anybody who supports Labour to convince me that Brown was a good chancellor and has done a good job. Add to that the crackpot H.Harman and you really do have a complete set of fools.

Labour is "spend first, tax after" and then wonders why it does not add up, especially when recession hits and unemployment rise so tax revenues decrease.
For over 10 years we have been brainwashed into believing that GB was prudent and a genius at finance. His labour mates still say today that he is the most successful chancellor after the second world war despite the evidence of the contrary.when i look at it, England may have had an "exceptional" 10 years of growth, but based on what ? credit,credit,credit....We are now looking at going back to where we used to be amongst other European countries, at the bottom of the pile. Thanks GB.....
