Going down - faster than ever before

Daily Telegraph: UK house prices in grip of slump that experts expect to deepen

An article describing everybodys views that this crash is faster, deeper and more structural than any before it - so say the estate agents. I can't say I'm surprised. It takes milliseconds to go around the internet, and anyone buying will be second-guessing every day. If you've not exchanged and don't need to - why should you? You WILL gain purchasing power by waiting - or more clearly - you will LOSE money if you buy anytime soon.

Hmmmm - this is a seriosuly pessimistic article, and holds no prospect of a light at the end of the tunnel. It suggests that the Nationwide figures tomorrow are going to be bad. Anyone know if Krusty had eaten hat hat yet?

She should have to eat every person's hat, that she has influenced to over extend themselves to get on the property ladder ("because renting is dead money", and "property will always be a good investment, no matter what") in the last five years.

That's a LOT of hat eating !!!!!!!!!!!!

There - are/will be more - families out there that will have to endue years of financial hardship due in part to Kirsty's property porn show influencing them to buy into an ever-over-inflated market. Will she feel any guilt at all?

I do wonder if they are privy to them already.

My only question about Krusty eating her hat - will there be tickets available?

Paul,

To be fair to Kirsty "I'll eat my hat" Allsop, she made the prediction in summer 2005 at the time of the first slowdown. It was a very specific prediction, she said that if prices fell by September 2005 then she would eat her hat. At no point did she say "house prices will never ever fall". She was right; so let's give credit where it's due!

I'd prefer to forget all about Kirsty, she was a media made no nothing with no qualification or much experience.
Typical of the 'experts' we British love to follow.

In a rising market whatever you are 'selling', it doesn't matter if the seller / adviser is a dim-sh1t.....people are blinded by greed. It's only when the market turns sour that people notice that the emperor is in fact a naked dim-sh1t. Hence unqualified spotty faced 'kids' such as at Poxtons, with no life experiences beyond flash suites and binge drinking, have until now got away with it!

drewster, Kirsty Allsop has said that on a number of occassions. Most recently she said it on a Radio4 interview just under a year ago, and I've seen her say it at least once on her property porn with Phil Whatsisname.

I'll give credit where it's due, but their credit line has run out.
