I have lost count of the number of times this has been "called for" as the press likes to put it, but nothing
is ever done. Wonder why ?

Mind you in the US, realtors are regulators. It was the mortgage broking industry that got out of control.

I agree, but like so much of the 'expert' analysis why house prices went so unaffordable and are now plummeting -
