Vindication?
Telegraph Online: UK house price decline accelerated in May
On Radio 4 Today's programme Fionnuala Earley remained upbeat and claimed the credit markets were opening again and this would raise hope in the housing market. From utter gloom to rather gloomy Ms Earley? Still, I'm not seeing evidence of FORCED SALES around my area though.

They will come, as time goes on. Recession is now an absolute inevitability.

Woot!
"Most of the problems have been caused by the credit crisis"
Ergh, no. The main problem was a speculative bubble that had to give way once the silly mortgage loans stopped. What we are are seeing now is not a credit crisis but a return to normal lending criteria.
This is worse (better) than I had expected :)

Last year Fionnuala predicted that house prices would rise this year.
In January she predicted that house prices would remain flat this year.
Why listen to a word she says - she obviously doesn't know a thing about house prices.

Finnuala, krusty allsop, phil spencer, sarah beenie (ok maybe not the beenie), those two tw*ts (martin roberts and lucy alexander) from "homes under the hammer", christian "posh boy" (try before you buy) , the irish guy whos just learned how to shave (how to be a property developer), and all the other experts, you're boys took one hell of a beating... er! sorry wrong script...
I predict that these so called experts will bear the full brunt of public indignation when the general population finally realise that these people have helped talk up the market for well over 10 years now and have no solutions for falling (like the proverbial stone) market. Far from being the darling of the media Krusty, particularly, will be the focal point of public venom and this will only ease when she finally eats that friggin hat!

Fionnuala Earley must be dreading June's figure's already - bad enough having your professional reputation torn to shreds but to have it screened on TV as it happens...she seemed very downbeat on the broadcast I saw. Wonder how long Nationwide will prolong her public humiliation ? Wouldn't be surprised if a different 'spokesperson' is put up soon...
