Quite worrying when we can expect a crash that will make the Great Depression look like a sunday school picnic.

They won't face ruin, they'll just spend on their credit cards for a few months until they find another job. That's assuming the credit card company hasn't cut their credit limits....

It amazes me when people claim that....the fundamentals ase sound, the country has been well run......and other crap like that.
The UK is in a very, very vunerable situation.

As corporatism and greed has pushed the boundaries of personal expenditure - a small change in market conditions could cause devastation to the masses. If the government had secured decent pensions and regulated HPI then we'd have enough money to survive and spend. Instead they inflated the bubble and put us all on a precipice. One has to ask if our glorious leaders have reverted entirely to short term greed / survival instinct - or do these morons possess any foresight or intelligence? Blair should be put on trial.
