So medium largish scale redundancies are on the way, but we just wanted to give you a "heads up". Get the words into your vocab so that when we are forced by pressures beyond our control, you won't panic more than you already are. Death of two cuts. Really dot com pattern so clearly -- was there, got the T-shirt. Cut deep, but not deep enough, then cut way right to the skeleton, just enough to keep the business running.
Its a "anti-pattern" as we say in the software world playing out in every bank and financial company on the planet. Wait till you are doomed, then cut not deep enough to keep the party going a bit longer, then be forced by circumstances to cut in a absolutely vicious manner. Maybe you survive, many won't. From the stories coming from my IT buddies in the city its dire out there.
