ThisIsMoney: Curb these property clubs (2005)

I thought this was well worth promoting to the front page - from Rental John in the comments of this Inside-Track-went-bust posting:
"INDUSTRY leaders have called for investor protection against property clubs, amid fears of a looming crisis in the buy-to-let flats market.
Four of the property industry's most influential bodies have asked for closer monitoring of the unregulated clubs, which often charge thousands of pounds for membership and advice."
(December 2005)

So I suppose it isn't too long to wait before we here that Darling and Brown come up with some sort of rescue package to help the poor helpless victims of the property clubs. Details to follow but rest assured it'll involve bucket loads of taxpayers cash.

Investors have all the protection tools they need.

I am shortly due to write a guide on a system that will help you in any market. I am due to attempt to trademark the name of the system shortly so i am loath to share it, but will do so with this select group of news bloggers. It is a revolutionary set of techniques that are assembled under the umbrella concept which i have named THINKING.

More on the technique of THINKING will be available in due course. Needless to say there will be no courses, seminars or books written or delivered previously successful THINKERS (this is the phrase i will adopt for those that practice the techniqe). These would contradict my school of THINKING.

what a load of old tosh. Have people not figured out that regulation upon regulation is simpy an excuse not to think .. which is a very bad thing.

The people that do need to be helped though are the tenants of these soon to be bankrupt landlords. It isn't really fair that they face being kicked out their homes by sub-prime btl mortgage companies because their landlord hasn't paid the mortgage.

Thanks dohousescrashinthewoods for highlighting my comment. I would have done it as a post but I do not often get though the 'selection process'.

From the comment by jonb - that is an aspect I'd not thought of, how precarious the position is of the tenants of the Buy-to-Losers. I can see major problems in the very near future.
