Bring it on, we are all getting paycuts now. The council i work for agreed 2.2% colleagues didn't seem too concerned when i told them that it was a 2% plus pay cut!

With inflation at 9%, 2.2% is a very definitely a pay cut!

The Winter of Discontent appears to have started even before we've had the summer.

Once this new generation gets the hang of strike action things will get interesting, to say the least.

I'm amazed it's taken this long for the UK public to wake up I thought they'd been putting something in the water. We are a very domesticated bunch in this country anywhere else and they'd be rioting in the streets with a government that hammers the poor on tax and fuel prices rising on a daily basis.

You wait and watch - Yes we are moving towards the Summer of Discontent - but with Oil at $118 a Barrel , what is in store for the Winter of Discontents Fuel Bills? I have not had a pay rise for over 2 years now and in my figures True Inflation is about 9% , so I am working for Less and definately paying out more!! I am like the rest of this site and just want somewhere affordable to live? Every flipping month I live in hope?

The reason that a lot of people seem fairly content is because they have been living beyond their means on cheap credit. New cars, big holidays, plasma teles etc.

The 70's will be fondly remembered as the good times before all this is finished.
