Nero fiddling, Rome burns...when will the plebeians revolt?

Firstrung: Sing along with the common people, sing along and it might just get you through

One of the benefits of having your own bit of internet 'space' to occasionally fill is that when something grates you can use that space as a cathartic release in order to lance your nagging grievances. Wordsmiths and "sophistication" (in the true sense of the word) go hand in hand. Naturally when you're involved in journalism, at any level, you begin to quickly identify how cleverly politicians in elevated positions use their sophisticated power of words in order to implant ideas and reinforce their beliefs. Neuro-linguistic programming is a fascinating subject and one that couldn't possibly be done justice in the small space of this blog. 'The Power of Words' in order to manipulate thinking and control behaviour is an art politicians have practised and perfected since ancient times.

Stunningly well written piece, I only hope it is read by some brave journalists tonight.

On second thoughts all the gutter newspapers will be full of Fat Jags tomorrow. A NeuLiebor smokescreen if ever there was one!

Great article, fantastic - the prosperity of future generations, the NHS, public services, infastructure, have all been sacrificed to prop up banker's profits, all possible due to the sheeple believing the lie of 'rising house prices are good'. What a disgusting mess we are in.

Brilliant. How terribly sad the majority of people will never understand or even contemplate it's content.

With regard to revolt. I get the feeling that the weight of state apparatus bearing down on people nowadays is so much that most people are simply happy to get through the day without incurring any penalties. Basically beauracracy has gone completely and utterly mad. Keeping people in a constant state of looking over their shoulders just incase must work wonders for keeping them about their business and too scared to take on authority. Micro-chips in wheelie bins for gods sake! We're being sh*t upon from a very great height in this country and constantly thanking the powers that be and asking for some more.

'In truth a 50bl assistance package is akin to covering approx. a single month's mortgage trading for UK banks alone. Therefore any suggestion that this package of aid will re-invigorate mortgage markets, in turn allowing banks to 'un-freeze' and then quickly re-commence their disastrous lending practices is very misleading. Their hell, that they have self inflicted, would truly have to freeze over before banks re-lend in the same reckless manner which has caused such a global crisis. '

Back to square one it seems..

Awareness, Wisdom and Truth :

"These decisions have been made not in order to save the housing market (which is beyond help), or to preserve the fragile standard of living of the UK populace, but to preserve the fantastic wealth of an elite collection of bankers. One firm of international fame and repute has recently found a comfortable high ranking position for a previous prime minister with no banking experience. His successor's elevation to such a position is surely guaranteed given his slavish sacrifice of the UK in order to preserve the elite. What explanations can be used by the new set of messengers in order to test a new set of linguistic programming on a population by then suffering huge stress tests, will be both fascinating and horrific to witness in equal measures."

Plato.....nail on the head. Handing over all the poor's tax money to the rich - just to delay and minimize their inevitable discomfort. I've never understood why the UK invites amateurs to run the government. It's like expecting Bush to know where Afghanistan is -- but on a very large scale.
