Last one out please turn off the lights
this is london: Bloody day in the City as 1,300 jobs are axed... and another 1,000 workers could go tomorrow
The cuts are the first confirmation of the scale of the job losses facing the City, estimated this week at 40,000 by JP Morgan – more than one in 10 of all workers.

I take it the first ones to go are the Board of Directors and not the staff in such fair and democratic societies.

The recent 'proper' job losses at BAe didn't register much on the radar.....but City jobs.....it's all across the media. BLOODY TYPICAL.
Another thought - the City job cuts have come on pretty fast on the back of the credit crunch and financial crisis - just show how close these pirates were sailing in to an ill wind!

So 3 weeks ago it was 10000 city job losses, two weeks ago it was 20000, last week it was 30000, and this week 40000 job losses!
Anyone see a pattern?
