Did you hear that Kirstie? "Irrational exuberance" in the property market. Wonder where THAT came from? Not HPC.co.uk. And to think, Brown is still in office and reruns of Location, L, L. are still playing!

Nationalisation Without Rules, distributing wealth from the public purse to the elite private sector. Obvious and unstoppable if no Politicians will stand up for Democracy.

Credit Card debt too? Un-f****g-believable. Truly gobsmacked. The banks must laughing their ars*s off - what a scam. We really should organise a protest as there'll be nothing left if we don't make our thoughts heard.

This is highly immoral! I cannot think of a single positive spin the government can place on this one, government question time this week should prove interesting. I agree with @geed, the Preston article comments says it all, it really is beyond belief!

Actually, Larry I think it's about time people started protesting about this. Anyone know of any marches being organised? There should be.

I've asked around...but my perception is that most of the part time punk only protest if it's about war or id cards...I've got my head brewing on it though...

I was wondering about the Mayday marches in the City. What's happened to those? If there was ever a time when one could be justified it is now. Trouble is these issues are a bit opaque to the average anticapitalist.

well I'm a cartoonist...so it's kinda my job/duty to make the opaque transparent....this one's a toughy though...just the mention of economics and everyone scatters!!

"Politicians will stand up for Democracy"
At some point the penny must drop: the banks run the politicians - why else would the politicians be prepared to sacrifice the public purse?

Here's an idea British Coalition Party:
If you are unsure of which greater evil you want to vote for or instead of spoiling your ballot paper for a meaningless protest vote, put your vote to the BCP.
The idea of the British Coalition Party is to gain a seat and surrender 80% of the seats equally to opposition parties after selecting the Cabinet ministers thus diluting the influence of the "only two" political parties we have had for so long.
A BCP MP would have less vested interest as the majority would surrender their term.
The 20% remaining BCP MP's would remain as MP's for the sole purpose ensuring that the BCP sharing of power and influence is maintained.
Upon winning an election the BCP leader (duly elected by BCP party members) would remain Prime Minister and with other BCP MP's select Cabinet ministers. No other BCP member would be allowed to be in Cabinet (perhaps whip...) This way we may get a Forreign Secretary past puberty with some experience, fright and credibility, as well as an experienced Chancellor too who may even know his / her sums. (GB need not apply)
The BCP MP's must be on a very low pay. This must be their sacrefice for influence. Their pension must be reasonable.
Pro's
-Select the best from all parties
-Seperate MP wealth from power
-More voice to the average person
Con's
May take a while to get acts passed BUT THEY WILL BE DONE PROPERLY!
Cabinet meetings may get a little feisty (hence BCP whip)
