End of Rosie's BTL empire dreams

ThisIsMoney: Former BBC presenter's £40,000 debt

Rosie Millard was living like a millionairess - without the money to pay the bills. 'Cheques bounced daily'.

MUAHAHAHAHA

Guess we see more of the same - so called celebs in similar situation - I really need to read about Krusty, property porn Phil, and Beeny similarly in the cr@p before I can see a silver lining.

Classic stuff, after being broke in 2005 and broke again in 2008.

'Frankly, London was so full of people on City bonuses that I had forgotten I was not on one myself,' said mother-of-four Miss Millard.

This one is good as well;

'Her spending came to a 'grinding halt' when she realised that it was not just the mortgage which she could not afford. She was also struggling to find the money for her children's school meals.'

So much for her so called BTL advice in the papers then.

I read this earlier today, it made me laugh as I know people at work who have lived their lives this way. They appear to be in denial and lack any responsibility in their pursuit of a never ending champagne lifestyle. What worries me is that us prudent lot will end up paying in the long run and the government appears to be encouraging it with their policy of rewarding bad investment with tax payers money!

Get me out of this madhouse!!!!

It's a shame the wonderful spoof site www.rosiemillard.com seems to have finally lost its battle to keep its domain name. There's still a cached version, but without the pictures its not quite the same.

Ah, she's at it in the Independent, too.

Oh god, my bank manager calls me with news of impending Armageddon on my bank account. Money I've been pounding the doormat in expectation of has mysteriously been held up on the magical "cheque run" from one of my many employers. We're not talking a £75 tiddler; this cheque is for £2,000, and that would staunch the holes in my weakened financial edifice rather perfectly. "Send it over now, in used notes!" I feel like yelling at the nice lady.

"Robbing Peter to pay Paul," says Mr Millard sadly, wagging his head in mock despair.

What more can we do? Our family expenses have already dwindled like a set of Russian dolls. I pick up the paper. It advises everyone to start looking for cheaper options in life; from nanny to au pair, from taxi to bus, from Pizza Express to sandwiches, from theatre to television. So, no Scarlett O'Hara in the West End, not with tickets at £60 each. I'll have to make do with renting the original on VHS and toasting Vivien Leigh with Babycham as she cuts up the velvet curtains for her dress.

Cokers rather than PS3, Butlins rather than Club Med, BHS rather than Debenham, indeed.
Anyway it's good see this lady still retains some sense of humor in such understandably panicky situation.

Has this woman got no pride? Not only does she appear not to find it in the slightest bit embarrassing to be in this position she actually tells everyone while making light of it.
