It looks like the whole of society is built upon corruption. We are almost a Banana Republic, with a leisure class on the top and a large, poorly educated and poorly paid working class. We have over recent years been criticising ourselves with Rip Off Britain slogans, not only the rich but the middle and lower classes engage in rip off scams and over pricing to make a quick buck ! It is amazing that we live in a society where nobody trusts relatives or neighbours, to think that just a generation ago you left your front door open and borrowed sugar from your neighbour. Even the church seems to be corrupt with strange habits. we are all doomed.

The scale of this - with so many players - suggests that there has been little secret about the practice.

Over the last few years, the quoted cost of building houses (excluding land price) has soared. Part of this is down to stricter insulation requirements, part down to environmental taxes and regulations, part down to more 'elf 'n' safety requirements on building sites, part down to inflation and part down to higher buyer expectations with regard to finish and fittings - but I've found it hard to see how these factors add up to account for the increased cost..

Remember also Prescott's (not that unreasonable) idea for affordable homes that the building industry suffocated..

While not a follower of conspiracy theories, I do wonder what else has been going on...

The corruption promoted by this latest cheap-credit bubble goes all the way to the top. The media will concentrate on the smaller players lower down the chain.

As an aside, anyone heard of

10 May 2008: Pangea Day

Is this one step closer to Calleman's co-creation goal in 2011

Sold 2 rent

As change comes from the top and power corrupts then those in authority are corruptable , admitingly it is difficult to separate the good from the bad but Bill Clinton lied, bush has lied, Blair has Lied, Gordon is Living a lie so we have changed! we are happy to sit back and accept the lies as truths. Radical change might need to come from the bottom with society starting to say 'No' to being ripped off and Lied to but we need to be led, Perhaps sold 2 rent could lead us, but, power eventually corrupts and sold 2 rent might actually decide to Buy to let.

Don't think so.
The bottom of the market in 2011 should coincide with with a move away from materialism towards spirituality.
For change on that scale to happen there needs to be some serious destruction going on.

IMHO the age of co-creation has no elected leaders.
