Firstrung: Nottingham named as burglary capital of Britain
Nottingham has been named in a survey as the riskiest place in the UK for household burglaries. Nottingham had home theft levels 63% above the national average, based on the study of tens of thousands of claims handled by the insurance firm Endsleigh. The city was followed by London, Bristol, Stockport and Leeds, while Guildford was found to be the safest.

i wonder if their police are any better than cheshire.
Next door to us got robbed (we are in cheshire) the police turned up 45 mins later (after a 999 call) even thought at the time they were told 3 people where in place robbing it and gave them the reg number too they when they did turn up the police said we have been looking for that van for a few months now... well mr plods if you had turned up 45 mins earlier and you would have caught them.......

Poor old Nottingham - has been top rated for binge drinking, voilent crime and now burglary.
Mark - you have it easy in Cheshire. When my garage got broken into (SW London) the police didn't even believe me. Then next door got burgled and they said they would step up their patrols of the area. I've seen the panda car in our street once since then (about 5 years ago).

I think we should have laws like in the USA..
You can protect yourself even if you kill the intruder.... I bet things would improve over night...
