I sincerely hope so. But what was New Labour? Old conservatism, with an obsession of supporting American imperialistic ambitions.

We know a number of people in high office took us into an illegal war based on numerous lies. Those lies led to the deaths of hundreds of British troops, thousands of American troops and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. The question we should now be asking is who should be facing trial for (1) crimes against humanity, (2) war crimes against the UN convention, and (3) being a traitor to our country. Blair, I would suggest, is in the frame, as is Jack Straw and Lord Goldsmith - but hopefully any enquiry, if they allow it, will determine who else was involved in the deception.

"if they allow it"
Sorry - I don't have that much faith in british democracy and law.

Amazing that people aren't calling en masse for an election really, now that Brown is proving his incompetence on a daily basis.
I was thinking the other day how much the nature of war has changed, with the military being sued over personnel being killed or injured if they didn't have the right equipment etc. Can't quite imagine that happening in WW2, but now the bad news gets beamed out to us all within hours or even minutes of it happening and, naturally, questions start getting asked. It certainly makes it more real and sad when you see clear pictures, sometimes videos, of the people who have been lost.
