As usual, the recession causes the house price crash rather than the other way round. One look at America and you'll see what happens in the real world.

i still refuse to pay £179,358 for the average UK home - a massive amount for overpriced tat (on average). When the average UK home is about 4 times the multiplier of the average UK wage then that's when I'm in.

"Never Enough..." is by The Cure, 1990, reached no. 13. Other appropriate Cure songs:
'Just like heaven' if prices drop more
'Wrong Number', tell the EAs!

My Favourite line:
"Nationwide said its own figures were overstating the situation because house price growth was particularly strong in January and February last year. "

So how do the figures overstate the situation? This is equivalent to saying:
"Prices are falling, but this is overstating the situation, because prices used to be higher."

I refuse as well. Ridiculous. Why should anybody pay so steeply for land that derives most of its value from excessive planning restrictions. I also find it a bit steep that I have to pay over a third of my salary to the government and then half of the remainder to some random punter just as a starting point in my expenses.
Can somebody explain the point of working in the UK? No wonder it takes dynamite to shift the unemployed into work, its a dumb move to make.
