The sub headline (or whatever it's called ) is atrocious because it equates BTL with the concept of a "homeowner".

These journalists are just scum. Punkt

What's the name of the Speaker's wife and the place where you report them? I'm sure she declared all those taxi fares on her tax return, but we should probably remind them to check, just in case.

A bit harsh and underhand. If your landlord is keeping his/her end of the bargain then stabbing them in the back is not on. If tax dodgers get caught then that's the risk.

You've gone down in my estimatation confused76

@Azazel

If the landlord could get away with charging more rent then why isn't he doing it already ? Oh that's right - because he can't otherwise his tenant moves out.

wage slave - I think you are wrong. The reason that BTL landlords are not charging more is because of their charitable outlook on life and their highly tuned sense of morals and fair play.

They have been making a profit because of capital gains, which are now gone, and in some cases by dodging the tax, which will soon end. It's an extra tranche of BTL where the sums just don't add up.

I am happy to say that many of them are fXXXXXed
