Is New Liebour the UK's most corrupt government ?

Telegraph: Council tax bills cover-up exposed

Tens of thousands of householders could have been paying too much council tax for years in a "scandal" that ministers attempted to cover up. Ministers and officials have known since at least 2005 that many homes were placed in the wrong tax bands, with householders paying more than they should. It is claimed that the miscalculations could have affected up to 400,000 homes - and it is still not known how far back the over-payments go.

This small island of ours is rapidly more like Sicily by the month, but instead of being run by the Mob we are run by an increasingly morally bankrupt bunch of politicians hell bent on extorting as much cash as possible from an over taxed, over borrowed and generally mentally downtrodden electorate.

How many more financial skeletons are about to fall out of New Liebors cupboard, are there any decent journalists and news outlets out there that still have the balls to pull the cupboard door wide open?

For 10 years Liebour have had the people of this country slowly getting drunker and drunker at what the people were led to believe was a free bar. Now it's becoming apparent that we were being charged all along for these 'free' drinks - and paying way over the odds too. Just wait for the reaction as people begin to cotton onto what has really been going on. Liebour are going to unelectable for another 18 years.

Yes anyone else trying to pull off stunts such as these and those related to expense accounts would be in jail. Instead it is the genuine protester agaist Council Tax, WO1 Fitzmaurice who finds himself in jail! And who is speaking up for him.? United we stand, divided we fall, they say. Oh well, stand by for the crunch!

I have just checked the VOA website. I am officially a Band C property. However I have been paying Band D for the last 4 years. So thanks for the info. I will be on the phone 1st thing tomorrow morning to get my money back.

I sat down this afternoon and calculated our family running costs (or should I say the increase in the family running costs). I am staggered at how much things have increased since the last time I did it (about a year ago). 2.1 % official inflation figure - an insult just to say this to people. The ONS should be renamed the OIS (Office for Insulting Statistics). I am getting angry and the people around me are as well.

Problem is : Property over-pricing has been virulent over the years. Thus leaping properties into higher tax bands. This has suited greedy Government coffers and wasteful Councils perfectly. Placing properties in the wrong taxband has been too easy and done without question.
No doubt this will be laughed off as yet another Conspiracy Theory. However deliberate concealment and secretive behaviour show a definite intent to mislead.
Time this Government is prosecuted for persistant and habitual deception. The world is watching too - it's all becoming a bit too embarrasing for even the EEC to turn a blind eye.

Its a joke. It's about time for an election of some kind so Gordon's Ar5se can be whipped for the deception he has peddled for years.
Whilst the Tories may not be much of an option - I would prefer to elect a different party just on the basis of teaching a lying ugly toad a lesson.

And where does the money come from to employ all the drones who then investigate all the claims from all the people who have (potentially) been ripped off? From the people who have (potentially) been ripped off. What with one thing and another this government is responsible for it's own 'carousel fraud'. They screw up peoples lives by underinvesting in systems and processes, then employ even more people to tidy up the mess.

But REALLY your house was a Band A. You were just lucky to get out at the right time like I was. Those that haven't are now paying for a trumped up dream. Either you get in and out fast or you suffer with todays economics. This is not exactly the meaning of Investment, more like a gamble and we all know what happens then.
